JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has been running since 1987 and has restarted itself nine times, each part following a different Joestar in a different era with a different combat system. Very few long-running series have been that willing to abandon what worked.

The Stand is the invention that made it immortal. A visible manifestation of a character's fighting spirit, with rules so specific that fights become logic puzzles - not who's stronger, but who understood the other's ability first. It's one of the most imitated ideas in manga.

Araki's art evolved enormously across the decades, from bodybuilder physiques to something closer to high fashion. The posing came from that fashion interest, and the fandom's obsession with it is entirely earned.
