How to Use the Cursor Constructor?

Welcome to the most creative part of our extension: the Cursor Constructor! This powerful cursor maker tool allows you to design and create your own cursor packs from scratch. Whether you're a pixel art enthusiast or just want to experiment, the constructor puts you in the designer's seat.

Quick Reminder: The Cursor Constructor is a feature within our website. Once you create and save a pack, it will be available to add to your extension's collection.

Getting Started with the Cursor Maker

The constructor provides a pixel grid canvas, a color palette, and all the tools you need to bring your ideas to life.

  1. Navigate to the Constructor Page

First, go to the Cursor Constructor page on our website. You'll be greeted with a blank canvas ready for your masterpiece.

    • Pencil: Draw pixel by pixel.
    • Eraser: Remove pixels.

Creating Your First Cursor Pack

  1. Design the Normal Pointer

Start by drawing your main cursor (the arrow) on the canvas. Remember, you can zoom in for more precision. Don't be afraid to experiment!

  2. Set the Hotspot

The "hotspot" is the functional tip of your cursor - the exact pixel that clicks on links. Click the "Set Hotspot" tool and then click on the canvas to define this point. For arrows, this is typically the very tip.

  3. Design the Link Select / Hand Pointer

Next, switch to the tab for the "Hand Pointer". You can either draw a completely new design or copy your main pointer and modify it.

  4. Preview Your Creation

Use the preview window to see how your cursor looks and feels against different backgrounds (light and dark). Make adjustments as needed.

  5. Save and Name Your Pack

Once you are happy with your design, click the "Save" button. Give your pack a unique name. It will be saved to your account and become available to add to your extension.

  6. Add to Your Extension

After saving, go to your new pack's page and click the "Add" button, just like you would with any other cursor from our gallery. It will then appear in your "My Collection" tab in the browser extension.

Now you're not just a user, but a creator! Share your creations with friends or even submit them for a chance to be featured in our public gallery.
