Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is a comedy about a programmer who drunkenly invites a dragon to live with her and cannot get her to leave. Kyoto Animation gave it more visual care than a domestic sitcom strictly requires, and it's much better for that.
The joke is scale. Tohru is an ancient being who could level a city and is instead extremely invested in doing the laundry correctly. The gap between what these creatures are capable of and what they choose to spend their time on is the whole comedy engine.
Kanna is the show's other pole - a small dragon attending elementary school, treating human children as an anthropological curiosity, and being adored by all of them.
Underneath it, the series is about a woman with no social life accidentally acquiring a family, and it's surprisingly moving about how uncomfortable that makes her.
This collection covers Tohru and Kanna.
