Collection The Angry Beavers

The Angry Beavers is a 90s Nickelodeon series about two brothers who move out of the family lodge and immediately discover they cannot live together. That's the entire show, and the writing is sharp enough to sustain it for four seasons.

Norbert is smooth, lazy and infuriatingly relaxed. Daggett is loud, anxious and permanently one insult away from a breakdown. The dynamic is a classic double act, but the show is unusually honest about the fact that these two genuinely irritate each other and stay anyway.

The dialogue is the reason it's remembered. It's fast, dense with invented slang, and delivered at a speed that assumes the audience is keeping up. A lot of 90s cartoons went for gross-out; this one went for wordplay.

The animation leans heavily on wild expressions and rubbery takes, which suits characters whose primary mode is overreaction.
