Collection Charmed

Charmed ran for eight seasons on a premise that was unusual for late-90s television: three adult sisters who are the most powerful witches alive, and the show is mostly about their relationships with each other rather than with anyone else.

The Book of Shadows is the series' best object. A leather grimoire that has been added to by generations of Halliwell women, it functions as exposition device, family history and plot engine all at once, and the show gets a lot of quiet emotion out of the fact that their dead mother's handwriting is in it.

P3, the nightclub the sisters run, gave the series its other side - an excuse for a weekly band and a reminder that these women have jobs, rent and dating problems alongside the demon of the week.

The Power of Three, as a concept, was a neat way to make cooperation mechanically necessary rather than just thematically nice.
