Collection Hazbin Hotel

Hazbin Hotel began as an independently funded pilot from Vivienne Medrano that racked up tens of millions of views and turned into a full series. That path - one animator's project on YouTube becoming a studio production - barely existed before this.

The premise is a hotel in Hell that offers redemption to demons, run by the Devil's daughter, who is relentlessly optimistic in a setting designed to crush that. It's structurally a musical, and the songs are the best part of the whole operation.

The art style is the draw for a lot of people: sharp angles, extreme expressions, and a palette that lives almost entirely in reds and magentas. It looks like nothing else in animation right now.

Helluva Boss, the sister series about an assassination company in Hell, is louder, ruder and arguably funnier, with Blitzo as its permanently self-destructing centre.
