Oggy and the Cockroaches is a French series with no dialogue whatsoever, which is why it ended up airing in over a hundred countries. A blue cat wants a quiet life. Three cockroaches live in his house and are dedicated to preventing it.
The comedy is entirely Tex Avery by way of Marseille - impossible physics, instant recovery from catastrophic injury, and escalation that ends with the kitchen destroyed and everyone back at the table by the next scene. Nothing is ever resolved, and it doesn't need to be.
Joey, Marky and Dee Dee are individually distinct despite being nearly identical roaches, which the animation manages purely through movement and posture. Jack, Oggy's cousin, exists to make every situation worse through sheer aggression.
The show's refusal to use words means the timing has to be perfect, and it usually is.
This collection covers Oggy, Jack and the roaches. Loud, fast and entirely wordless.
