Jackie Chan Adventures took an actual film star, animated him, and gave him a magic-artefact plot, which is a stranger pitch than it sounds and worked far better than it should have. It ran five seasons and Chan himself appeared in live-action segments answering fan questions at the end of episodes.

The twelve talismans give the first season a genuinely good structure - each one grants a different zodiac power, and the show works through them methodically while a demon sorcerer collects the rest.

Uncle is the best character and the show knows it. An antiques dealer and chi wizard who communicates almost entirely through disapproval and a single raised finger, he provides most of the exposition and all of the comedy.

The fight choreography is also notably good for a children's cartoon, which makes sense - the animators were studying the actual films.
